Wheat

Wheat is a Rabi crop, grown in the winter season. Sowing of wheat takes place in October to December and harvesting is during February to May. The Indo-Gangetic plains in India are the most conducive area in India for growing wheat. The cool winters and the hot summer are the perfect condition for a good wheat crop.

Rice

Rice is a Kharif crop that requires high temperatures (above 25 °C) and high humidity. It requires an annual rainfall above 100 cm. In areas with less rainfall, it grows with the help of irrigation. Rice is grown in the plains of north and north-eastern India, coastal areas and the deltaic regions.
